Why “Cicerone”?
Ok, I admit this is a weird word. And depending on how you pronounce it, it could sound quite humorous. I prefer the “Sis-uh-rohn” version with the end sounding like “cone” but there is a variation that sounds like macaroni and quite frankly I can’t say that without giggling, so there you are. Cicerone.
What is a cicerone? Simply put, it’s a guide. A mentor. Someone to show you around and give insight into something you may not have known before. And that’s what I hope to do with you, dear reader. To give you insight into your story alongside Disney’s narrative, to draw connections, and give you knowledge that enhances your understanding of the magic you already know and love.
Cicerone is derived from Marcus Tullius Cicero of Roman fame, and literally means “a guide who gives information about antiquities and places of interest to sightseers”.
“While there’s life, there’s hope.”
– Marcus Tullius Cicero
