Exploring the history of the Disney Parks (with a dash of the ridiculous!), Distory with Kate & Kirk is an adventure into the fascinatingly obscure details that have made the Disney parks what they are today.

Everything at Disney has a story, and we are determined to find the ones that have been lost over time.

Our Distory podcast is dedicated to seeking out the obscure details, forgotten stories, and fascinating history that have made our favorite parks what they are today. Using historical context as well as documents, photos, and interviews as our guide, our goal is to provide the most accurate and informational Disney history podcast ever.

But while sharing unique facts and stories is interesting, we also believe in Walt’s vision of edutainment, so having fun and being a little silly is high on our to-do list.

If you’re someone who has heard all the usual Disney stories and are ready to dig a little deeper into history you might not have heard before, come hang with us at Distory for multi-episode attractions series, a few ridiculous dad jokes, and a fresh perspective of the Disney parks.

Distory is recorded live on TikTok most Fridays at 5:30pm Pacific/ 8:30pm Eastern via @Disneycicerone & @walruscarp

MEET THE DISTORY HOSTS

KATE – @DisneyCicerone

Kate has studied Disney History for almost two decades, reading every Disney history book she can get her hands on (and writing a few of her own in the process).

When she’s not wandering the parks obsessed with rocks and crates, she’s researching, writing, and posting about obscure park history, little-known facts, and inspiring stories to make you think more deeply about why you love Disney.

Kate is passionate about helping others experience Disney in more meaningful and magical ways, allowing them to fully understand why their love of Disney has personal and social value. She loves exploring the sociological, psychological, emotional, historical, and unique ways Disney’s history and culture influence our lives.

KIRK – @WalrusCarp

Kirk is a Theme Park Expert who teaches folks the latest hacks, snacks, and fun facts around Florida theme parks.

In 2019, he founded a theme park clothing company called Walrus Carp. The name is from Alice in Wonderland’s Walrus and the Carpenter poem which details two characters who were always curious and always hungry.

Kirk’s content focuses on teaching folks how to enjoy the theme parks better with snack reviews and trip tips all while keeping it fun and positive. His focus is on helping others while building an inclusive community to better ourselves.
